From the President’s Pen
Sometimes we're traveling smoothly along life’s highway without a care in the world, and then it happens - a speed bump. It could be an illness, a career change, a financial difficulty or a score of other things. Whatever it is, it can slow us down, but it doesn’t have to stop us.
Even though a speed bump may be scary, if we slow down and adjust our driving (our thinking), we can gently roll over it and continue on our journey. (Our journey may look different, but it’s still our journey.)
I've found that the brain usually isn’t the best navigator in such situations, no matter what it says. The heart is much better at these things.
We may find ourselves on a road that is unfamiliar to us. Sometimes, it’s dark and scary. Take a breath, relax, and listen. Feel which way to go next. Explore and adjust and see how the journey unfolds.
Our journey doesn't always go the way that we have envisioned and we will probably see a few curves on our trip. Sometimes, we encounter a mountain and sometimes, we get to travel down open road.
Whatever happens, rest assured that an adventure is right around the corner. Embrace it. Leave the struggling to someone else.
I know that this article may make difficult things seems simple. I realize that they often aren’t. However, from experience, I can tell you that a positive attitude and a little humor can make a huge difference in how we experience them.
Remember who you are and take time to enjoy the journey.
Love and Light,
Colleen
