With all of the following tags, replace the words "your_text" or "link" or "name" with the link, text, or username you wish to be used.
All of these tags can be inserted into text using the line of buttons above the posting box. They get inserted at the end of the post, and must be moved to whereever they're needed. I hope to fix that in the future, if I can.

Bold, Italics, and underline tags allow text to be stylized, as in most word processing programs:
- Code: Select all
[b]your_text[/b] (Bold)
[i]your_text[/i] (Italics)
[u]your_text[/u] (Underline)

Quoting tags allow the poster to directly quote the person they're responding to, in order to make the thread easier to read. This function is most helpful when a thread is long, and your reply is not to the person who posted directly above you. It is also important to remember that you need not quote the entire post: only the parts that are applicable.
There are two types of quotes: Named and unnamed.
An unnamed quote works like this.

[quote="name"]your_text [/quote] (Named)

The image command allows an image to be posted directly into the post.

- Code: Select all
[img]link[/img]

URL tags are tags used to link to other websites. There are three ways to link.
The first is to simply type the URL of the site:
http://wtlcashtabula.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php
The second is to use basic link coding:
http://wtlcashtabula.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/index.php
- Code: Select all
[url]link[/url]
The third, and most useful is named links. These work like this. (The blue word "this" is a link)
- Code: Select all
[url=link]your_text[/url]

Font colour and size functions can also be used. You can drop down the menus, and choose what type you'd like. (Either size or colour, you have to combine the two manually if you want both at once.)
Colour.
Size
Colour & Size
- Code: Select all
[color=(colour_you_want)]your_text[/color]
[size=(size_you_want)]your_text[/size]
[color=(colour_you_want)][size=(size_you_want_]your_text[/size][/color]

I will also comment that I skipped the list functions, and code functions, because they're rarely used.
Finally, codes can be combined. For example, in a named link code, you can put image tags inside the text part of the tag, and have an image link to a site. Or add style tags inside them.
