Thank God For WTLC
"You have all the symptoms
of a closed head injury." That was what a clinician in Seattle
told me in 2001. At the time, I was experiencing profound and at times
incapacitating pressures in and around my head. Was disoriented, confused,
forgetful and only able to process and play card games for a 4 year
old. It would take me up to 3 hours to eat a meal because I would
forget what I was doing. I was emotionally labile and in a severe
clinical depression. I went to Seattle to live with my immediate family
and to undergo several medical exams and tests. I was living with
the feeling of wearing a football helmet that was 2 sizes too small.
Eventually I came back home with the same amount of symptoms and with
a small bag of possible medical explanations.
I was in terrible shape. A mutual
friend of WTLC and myself came over to visit me one day. He heard
my problem and gave me the number to the center. He felt strongly
that Susan Deak, Director of WTLC and a Healing Touch practitioner,
could help me. I was in terrible shape. The phone call was made and
soon I was being evaluated and treated by Susan. I was amazed in her
use and explanation of the pendulum to assess my body's energy centers.
I was even more impressed by her knowledge and varied skills of Healing
Touch that she used to treat my whole body with special emphasis to
my head. Being a hard-core clinician myself, a traditional physical
therapist of 18 years, I was first skeptical and unsure about all
this until I started "feeling better" soon, after each session.
Step by step I slowly started to feel much calmer, happier, and more
stable physically, emotionally, and mentally. I was becoming more
mentally cognizant. Susan, with her loving and caring ways and her
gift of being an effective and insightful practitioner of Healing
Touch gave me the hope, confidence and physical healing I needed to
help pull me out of a devastating problem. There were many times during
the healings to my head that I experienced sound and peaceful states
of deep relaxation and perceived notions that something was changing
with my head condition. Along with Susan's work I had also received
treatments of massage, NLP and Akashic Record counseling from some
of the other WTLC workers. It all served me well.
WTLC became my second home. The
volunteers and practitioners welcomed me and all of my special needs
with open arms. I found the center to be warm, comfortable and inviting.
Soon I was enjoying taking books and tapes cassettes out of the library
and learning more about health and healing. As my symptoms further
decreased, I became more functional. I was able to start attending
many wonderful and varied lectures and workshops and was finally able
to give some myself. Eventually I was healed enough to turn around
and start treating other people as a Reiki and Intuitive Healer. What
a personal triumph! Thank you Susan and the staff of WTLC for being
there and for making such a difference in my life! I never would have
survived my head condition without you.
With love and gratitude, Ann B.

Unexpected Benefits
I could not sleep at night. After coming to a presentation
at WTLC about Glyconutrients, I decided to try Ambrotose, which supplies
the 8 essential sugars necessary for cell communication. After two weeks
I started to sleep soundly through the night and awaken refreshed. It
continues to make a difference for me and I make sure that I won't run
out.

Spiritual & Creative Connections
My first major involvement with WTLC was joining
the Poets' Circle. What fun to be involved with this creative group.
I rediscovered a creative part of me that had been dormant for many
years.
My second major involvement has been "Course
in Miracles" class with Vince Lisi. I began with the introductory
class, "Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life", which gave
me both the desire and preparedness for moving into the Miracles' book.
In both groups I found caring, loving spiritual
people. My outlook on life has changed. I find myself less fearful and
critical, and more patient with myself and others. This change is indeed
a wondrous 'miracle'.
Anyone who attends any of the programs at WTLC
is made to feel most welcome. I do encourage anyone to come and join
us!

Turning My Life Around
Law enforcement had been my life for 15 years when
in 1992, I became aware of numbness in my feet and hands and started
having difficulty walking. In 1993 I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
I was given medication that led to severe depression and behaviors that
were not typically me. Hepatitis was later added to my condition.
I had always worked to be a BIG man physically.
AT my peak weight of 185 lbs. I could bench press over 235 lbs. At the
pit of my trauma, I could not bench press 45 lbs. and my weight dropped
to 134. I could not walk without banging in to something. Then I became
determined to regain my weight, strength and health. I began to exercise
religiously for short periods and to eat four or five good meals a day.
I had made much progress but was still short on
my stamina. My balance was terrible and my vision fluctuated with the
temperature.
I came to learn that WTLC was offering a Chi Kung
course taught by Henry Story. I decided to give it a try.
Within the first five months of working with Henry,
I regained the ability to stand with my eyes closed, my stamina increased
tremendously, the numbness in my fingers is gone and my overall progress
was so tremendous that my doctors changed my quarterly visits to annual
visits. I no longer catch everyone's cold. I no longer fall all the
time. The amount of muscle relaxants dropped to a third of what they
were.
Not only has Chi Kung helped me, but Henry has
also taught me how to breathe and meditate which greatly increased my
overall sense of well-being. I am learning a new outlook on life, including
proper balance in many areas.
I did not know what to expect from WTLC, but the
folks there really care.
