WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is the Japanese word meaning Universal
Life Energy. This natural healing accelerates the body's ability to
heal physical ailments, and opens the mind to the root causes of "dis-ease."
It supports the process of taking responsibility for one's life. Reiki
provides a means of balancing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual
energy in one's own health and that of family and friends. It can
be effectively incorporated into the healing arts practiced by a variety
of health care professionals. The practice involves the art of focusing
and administering this energy to one's self, other people, the planet
and animal kingdoms, with equally gratifying results.

WHAT IS HEALING TOUCH?

of alternative healing using hands-on and energy based techniques to
balance and align the human energy field. Body, mind, emotion and spirit
are touched through this therapeutic process, and each individual is
empowered to participate fully in his or her journey.
HOW DOES HEALING TOUCH OCCUR?
All healing is basically self-healing. Healing Touch helps facilitate
the healing process from an energy perspective rather than a physical
one. The Healing Touch Practitioner re-aligns the energy flow, re- activating
the mind/body spirit connection to eliminate blockages to self-healing.
WHAT IS NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING?
Neuro Linguistic Programming or NLP is the conscious use of a set of
verbal and non-verbal communication skills, which facilitates access
to information useful to the people involved. As our language skills
develop, we may learn and use many of these skills sub-consciously.
We also learn language patterns, which reflect self-limiting thoughts
and beliefs which can impact our way of operating in the world. This
can affect our relationships, our emotional responses, our physical
and mental well-being.
The NLP practitioner brings to each session, focused
attention and a conscious awareness of language patterns and their potential
significance. Questions to elicit clarifying information are carefully
worded to allow the speaker to more precisely provide information without
the practitioner suggesting her own possible interpretations. (In the
event such a suggestion is made it is clearly identified as the practitioner's
suggestion for the speaker's consideration only.) The focus is on the
speaker and the speaker controls where the conversation leads. Since
information gathered may be about a stressful or traumatic event for
the speaker, the NLP practitioner provides support to keep the speaker
"safe" while working through strategies to help the speaker
"heal" and learn from the incident(s). The speaker often gains
an increased range of resources and possible responses to situations.
NLP has proven to be particularly helpful to those
who experience phobias, traumas, some allergic responses, limiting beliefs,
triggered responses such as anger, guilt, shame, embarrassment, grief,
freeze ...which are inappropriate to their situation. NLP also can help
people communicate more effectively with their own physical self and
inner healer, resulting in body and mind working in harmony. In some
instances, NLP combined with energy healing techniques, are particularly
helpful with less stress for the participant. Depending on the particular
issue(s), sessions may be as short as one half-hour or as long as 2-3
hours. Sessions are scheduled to be open-ended so that processes are
ended only after closure is completed.
